Wild & Crazy Finale - The Hangover 3

The Hangover III

The wild Wolfpack hits the road again with an out of control crazy adventure! American comedy thriller film, The Hangover Part III which is claimed to be the final film of the movie series brought another blazing story that will probably burst out your seriousness in life. The movie stars Bradley Cooper (Phil), Ed Helms (Stu), Zach Galifianakis (Alan), Justin Bartha (Doug) and Ken Jeong (Leslie Chow) conveyed an action-thriller performance which is a little pole apart from the two previous sequels.  This new approach of Todd Phillips (director and screenplay writer) made most critics to give the movie negative feedbacks.

Synopsis:

To help Alan from his unmanageable psychiatric behavior, the Wolfpack decided to go along with him in a rehabilitation clinic in Arizona. On their way to the facility, bunch of hooligans wearing piggy mask run off their mini-van and kidnap them all. During the abduction, they were told that their notorious friend Leslie Chow stole gold worth $21 Million from gangster Marshall.  So, the Wolfpack was forcedly tasked to find Chow and return the stolen gold within three (3) days or else Marshall will kill their friend Doug. And that’s when the crazy ride started.

Review:

The movie truly embodies its title “Hangover” ‘because it illustrates people being crazy and enjoying sociopathic cruelty. Like the first sequel, the movie was held at Las Vegas which is clearly the perfect place to get wild and dirty but they could have done it somewhere else like what they did for the second installment which was filmed in Thailand. Perhaps for the final film, I suggest they could have taken it in India or China (somewhere new for the spectators). Also unlike the first two series, The Hangover Part III projects more of action flicks than comedy. Personally, I don’t think it’s a good decision to go astray on what the film has been known for. Though, I have to give credits to Todd Phillips for showcasing his skills in screenplay writing an action film, I still think The Hangover Part III is not the right movie to put such new scheme.

In fairness to the casts, they really put on a terrific performance in the movie and really personify the characters they are supposed to be. Especially Ken Jeong who is the annoying Leslie Chow that made me affected in someway. I was drawn by his acting skills which really made my blood boiling – good job! Also adding Melissa McCarthy as Cassie who is the love interest of Alan in the movie, made the story a little funny (at least).

The ending is satisfactory but I think it could have been better since this will be the last film of the movie series. Well, if you are interested to know what happened to the love story of Allan & Cassie and whether Leslie Chow changes to be a good person, then maybe you should watch the movie. Overall, I find The Hangover III intensifying and nerve scorching. But I have to say, it’s not a comedy movie you will laugh out loud watching.

My rate for the movie is 6/10.
